VIAREGGIO, Italy — Happy Sound Service is using Proel equipment at the Viareggio Beach Stadium for more than 20 music and sporting events involving 800 performers and 250,000 attendees, with network TV coverage including several live broadcasts. The venue’s Beach Soccer events include the 5th Matteo Valenti Memorial and a charity match between Cavalieri Beach Soccer Viareggio and a team of celebrities, with proceeds being donated to a children’s charity. Other events include the King of the Beach volleyball tournament, the BTM tour, the Italian A Series Rugby Championship and events staged by the Beach Academy, a sports school for kids.
The gear being used at the stadium includes four Proel NEOS218SP subs, four Proel NEOS152P speakers and racks of 4 Proel HPD3400PFC power amplifiers and AS025 processors. For events, the sound reinforcement system also includes Axiom gear: six Proel AX3210P speakers, eight Proel EDGE218SP subs and Powersoft amplification composed of four K10 power amplifiers and two K2 power amplifiers, and managed by a DSO26 processor and Ezcurve equalizer.
Viareggio Beach Stadium was built in the area next to Marina di Levante. Surrounding the Beach Arena, which measures 40 meters by 30 meters, there are stands seating up to 1,000 people, changing rooms, a food and drink area, a 12-meter-by-8-meter stage and a filming tower. The lighting system allows the organization of night events.
“Proel helped us do a great job here at the Beach Stadium,” said Andrea Pezzini, owner of Viareggio’s Happy Sound Service and one of the main promoters. “It took a lot of work, given the size and the peculiarity of this location, but Proel’s equipment was easy to adapt to the Stadium’s needs and it was our best choice for the performance we had in mind.”
