Hosa Technology opened for business on June 1, 1984. The company was conceived and started by Sho Sato for the purpose of distributing Hosa brand musical instrument cables, adaptors, and accessories to musical instrument dealers worldwide.

Born in 1943 in Yokohama, Japan, Mr. Sato moved to the United States in 1967 to work for the TEAC Corporation of America in Montebello, Calif. as a technician before rising to the position of national sales manager, accessories division. He stayed with TEAC until 1984 when he launched Hosa Technology, Inc.

As it approaches its 25th year in business, Hosa Technology has evolved into a highly diversified organization with a comprehensive product line with more than 2,000 SKUs for musicians, tour sound professionals and the A/V contractor market. The Company has also formed the upscale Zaolla Silverline brand of cable offerings and distributes the Da-Cappo Micro Microphones line throughout the Americas, plus CAIG instrument care products throughout North America.

“The evolution of Hosa Technology to its present day status is an accomplishment I am extremely proud of,” said Sato. “Over the years, Hosa has grown to reflect the diverse nature of the music and sound industry. The people who work here are like family and, without their effort and dedication; the company’s expansion would not have been possible. Looking forward, I envision even greater opportunities as we strive to provide the music and sound professional with the best tools available to help make their aspirations a reality.”
