A 120° nearfield dispersion and a 60° farfield dispersion at the same time from the same horn? That is what KS Audio is claiming to have achieved with the new CPA 12, a self-powered two-way for use on small to medium sized gigs and installs.
There are lots of powered two-ways out there, but KS says the CPA 12 uses a proprietary wave guide horn to create a 120° x 30 dispersion in the nearfield and 60° x 5 in the farfield with no energy traveling above the speaker and a total downward tilt of 5°, which would mean audio aimed at the audience without having to tilt cabinets. Each cabinet includes two 12” drivers and a compression driver on the horn with separate pulse width modulated amps for each component.
