M’elodie is the latest self-powered loudspeaker from Meyer Sound. It is a ultracompact, high-power curvilinear array loudspeaker is the newest generation of the M Series family. According to the company, M’elodie brings the simplified rigging of the MILO loudspeakers, along with a high power-to-size ratio in a compact package.
While M’elodie can be used as a main system in small venues, its 100-degree horizontal coverage is designed for use in larger venues, as it is designed to integrate with MICA. The QuickFly rigging, which features captive GuideALinks for the maximum in flexibility and safety, is designed to add as downfill to a MICA array, but individual M’elodie cabinets also work for frontfill or under-balcony coverage.
With a new low-frequency driver and amplifier, and a crossover, driver protection and frequency and phase correction circuitry, M’elodie provides a low-distortion solution. Its size belies a voice rated at a maximum peak output of 131 dB SPL.
