Modest Mouse Tours with Heil Sound

ATLANTA — Modest Mouse has been touring most of the year in support of their CD, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank. They will finish up performing at several radio station Christmas shows with stops in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Grand Prairie, TX and finishing up in Atlanta at the 99X Mistle Toe Jam.

FOH Mixer Jason Raboin and Monitor Engineer Myles Kennedy are using a gear package from Thunder Audio, Taylor MI that includes a Digidesign Profile console, combination Meyer MJF-212 and Nexo Alpha (wedges and side fills), and a Midas XL250 monitor board. Also included are Heil microphones including PR 30, PR 40 and PR 35.

Raboin said, “I put the small Heil mics on the toms of one kit, and love them. They have a softness to them that is really pleasing to the ear. Those mounts are fantastic and with a few turns of the screwdriver they stay in place quite nicely.  Of course, the other drummer asked why he doesn't get the cool new mics, so I found myself adding more Heil mics to the drums. I also use the Heil PR 30’s on the guitar rigs.”
