KANEOHE BAY, OAHU — Custom Audio Hawaii recently deployed its Dynacord PowerH amplifiers to power the P.A. for the 2007 “Blues on the Bay” airshow at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH), Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, featuring the United States Navy Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron. In addition to the main attraction, the weekend’s events included skydiving demonstrations, car shows, carnival rides, and aerobatic demonstrations.
“Our single rack of six PowerH 5000 amps powered a total of 36 speakers distributed throughout ten VIP tents at the show,” says Jeff Kang of Custom Audio Hawaii. “We went digital-in on everything, it all ran absolutely quietly, and I had headroom for days. Though some of my speaker runs were in excess of five to six hundred feet via NL8s and breakout boxes, the amps didn’t seem to care. We’ve been using PowerH for nearly a year now, and I still can’t find anything I don’t like about them.
Kang continues, "Lightweight, DSP functions, and serious headroom aside, they have one main advantage: superior sound quality. That’s one of the reasons the customer asked us back to do the next show. I’ve heard most of the high-end amps, and nothing else comes close in combining compact size, power and audio performance.”
According to the company, the PowerH series is up to 7kW, only two rack units high and weighs 14.5kg with a 3-stage grounded bridge Class H topology and a floating switchmode power supply guarantee. PowerH power amplifiers are ready for integration into IRIS-Net -based networks. Retrofittable remote modules are designed to allow complete system supervision and remote control combined with DSP-functions that include precise FIR filters and optimized algorithms for loudspeaker protection.
