AGOURA HILLS, CA — After Sennheiser Electronic Corporation announced it will no longer distribute Turbosound products in the United States and Latin America, U.S. distribution of the U.K.-based installed and live sound loudspeaker systems manufacturer was immediately acquired by American Music and Sound, bringing that group — which also distributes pro brands including Allen & Heath and Focusrite — a big step closer to being able to cover the entire signal chain.

Turbosound has also announced that Simon Blackwood will take over the role of managing director from Philip Hart effective Oct. 1. As well as leading the company as managing director, Blackwood will continue to oversee Turbosound’s sales channel management, while Hart moves to the position of chairman of Turbosound. Hart also serves as a board member of parent company Proel.

“We have a number of strategic plans already in place, one of which is focusing on expanding our business in the key U.S. marketplace,” Blackwood says. "American Music & Sound is extremely well aligned to take Turbosound to the next level in the US. They have a number of complimentary product lines in their roster to leverage our brand and are in a perfect position to market our products through their existing channels."

Lynn Martin, president of American Music & Sound noted Turbosound’s reputation for innovative systems and comments, "We are honored to have them on board, and we look forward to spearheading Turbosound's push into the American market."
