DALY CITY, CA — Evanescence is currently on a worldwide tour through 2007 with FOH (front of house) mixer Eddie Mapp and the Digidesign VENUE live sound environment at the helm. Mapp, who toured this past summer with the band Taking Back Sunday before hitting the road with Evanescence, is a graduate of Arizona's Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences and was introduced to VENUE by Robert Scovill, Digidesign's live sound market manager. For the Evanescence shows, Mapp runs 32 channels through a VENUE FOH Rack, which houses four DSP MIX engine cards, two HDx cards for Pro Tools recording and playback, an IOx expansion card and the ECx Ethernet option, which provides full control of D-Show from a tablet PC.

Mapp has taken advantage of the TDM plug-ins available for VENUE — from the Eventide Anthology II Bundle for reverbs and modulation to the SansAmp PSA-1 plug-in for vocal distortion. "The Crane Song Phoenix is the plug-in I reach for first and utilize the most. Thanks to [the VENUE system's] plug-ins and flexible routing, I'm finally able to send my vocal effects after the graphic EQ on my vocal subgroup so any EQ changes directly apply to their corresponding effects."

In addition, Mapp uses a Pro Tools M-Powered system to edit drum samples from the band's album to their drum sampler.
