LAS VEGAS — Ray Amico, a production/tour manager, has launched a new Web site called Friends of Gungi to benefit Gordon "Gungi" Paterson, an engineer and tour and production manager who has worked with such acts as Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Live, System of a Down, Tears for Fears and most recently, Fiona Apple, and who was diagnosed with cancer last summer. The site includes a Paypal depository where people are invited to make contributions to assist Paterson financially. According to the site, all proceeds are accessible only by Paterson and his family. In addition, the site also allows for anyone to express their sympathies and support for Paterson, who has been undergoing treatments since his diagnosis.

In connection with friendsofgungi.com, Colin LaMastro has created a site called Friends Helping Friends, which will host raffles to gather support and resources to assist Paterson as he continues to undergo treatments.
