The Echomixer Spring Reverb Plug-In

Telefunken Elektroakustik is introducing the Echomixer at NAMM 2024. Created by Audiopunks, the Echomixer is a germanium preamp, distortion and spring reverb plug-in. Modeled after a modified version of the original 1960 Echomixer, the device is uniquely upgraded with features such as daisy-chaining and flexible spring tanks.

1960 Design Reinvented

In 1960, Telefunken introduced a hardware germanium preamp featuring three channels and a Hammond IV spring reverb. Working with original vintage units, Audiopunks meticulously recreated these channels and the spring reverb in the new Echomixer, while adding modern features to expand utility in the digital realm. After servicing the units, Audiopunks modded the circuit to allow for the ability to daisy-chain the three channels. This offers an organic and unique germanium distortion that can be dialed to taste.

Audiopunks meticulously replicated the distinctive sound of the original spring tank, capturing every detail, overtone, and nuance with targeted precision. The developers incorporated two other popular spring tanks modules to allow the user the use of this plug-in in almost any recording situation.

The plug-in operates with Windows or Mac-based systems and supports AU, VST3 and AAX plug-in formats.

The Echomixer sound is offered at the an introductory price of $89 (originally $129). As a special treat for Telefunken followers, enjoy an extra 10% off with the code 10OFF.
