WOLSELEY, SK, Canada – An investigation is under way, but icy roads have been cited as a key factor in an accident that reportedly injured 13 crew members on Shania Twain’s Queen of Me tour early on Nov. 8.
Twain, who was not on the tour bus that overturned in the crash, had performed in Winnipeg, MB on Nov. 7, and the bus and a truck involved in the accident were en route to Saskatoon, SK for their next show, which had been set for Nov. 9.
The accident took place around 7 a.m. on Nov. 8 near Wolseley, Saskatchewan, about five hours from Winnipeg and 3.5 hours from Saskatoon.
Although some crew members were said to have been transported to a hospital, none of the injuries were deemed life-threatening, according to reports, and Twain is expected to perform at the Nov. 9 show in Saskatoon as planned.
Along with the Saskatoon show, three other concerts had been planned in Canada for the tour, which was set to wrap up Nov. 14 in Vancouver, BC.
