Video of the Week: Inside Rupert Neve Designs’ MBT Master Bus Transformer

Share this Post:

Intended for use on full FOH or monitor mixes, groups, stems or individual mono or stereo channels, the all-analog MBT Master Bus Transformer processor is designed to sweeten, enhance, drive, widen and transform source material.       Following the input section, a sweepable high-pass filter feeds a new 2-band, 3-octave shelf equalizer. The Color Comp optical compressor accentuates the opto cell’s non-linear distortion and “colorful” characteristics.

A Blend control allows parallel compression with the source material. Inspired by the Stereo Field Editor (SFE) found in the award-winning Portico II Master Buss Processor, the Width section offers a greater additive range for more extreme operation. Super Silk builds on Rupert’s popular “Silk” harmonic saturation and both Red and Blue Silk modes now simultaneously provide independent control over lower and upper frequency harmonics. A new Zener Drive circuit can be engaged for more aggressive tonality.

The all-USA made MBT is shipping now at $3,999. For more info, visit: https://rupertneve.com
