PHOENIX, AZ — HP Marketing, one of the most celebrated, successful and respected manufacturer representative firms in the United States AV industry, is announcing a changing of the guard that sees veteran Vice President of Sales, Andy Connors, buy out long-time owner and CEO, Steve Johnson. This is the fifth ownership/leadership transition in the 49-year history of HP Marketing and it underscores the strong organizational and cultural foundations of the firm and its deep-rooted commitment to serving AV brands, distributors, integrators and production professionals with comprehensive sales and support services.

HP Marketing serves leading Harman Pro brands including JBL Professional, Soundcraft Crown and AMX, as well as representing Pioneer DJ, Perdue Acoustics, Lowell Manufacturing, Pensar LED, König & Meyer and DPA Microphones in the Rocky Mountain territory.  “This company has phenomenal pedigree and potential,” Connors said. “My goal is to honor that pedigree with exceptional performance for brands and integration/production professionals. I also aim to implement new strategies and programs to advance our offering and value, capture growth and realize potential. I am grateful to Steve Johnson for his leadership and friendship over our many years working together and I’m confident that he will be able to enjoy retirement with the assurance that HP Marketing and our stakeholders are in safe hands!”

HP Marketing is among the most award-winning manufacturer rep firms in North America. The company has consistently met and exceeded quota, provided the highest levels of customer care, and expertly coordinated some of the most ambitious and extensive AV projects in the Rocky Mountain region. HP Marketing has won multiple Rep of the Year awards for JBL Professional, BSS and Crown Audio along with several quota-buster awards among the 50-plus awards garnered.

Connors has been with the firm since 1997 and has been instrumental in its success. “Andy’s commitment to this business is inspirational and unfailing,” Steve Johnson said today. “He is the optimal leader of this organization and the best qualified steward of this firm’s legacy and future. Andy understands that rep firms have always performed a central, cohesive role in bridging the functions, needs and ambitions of the production, integration and manufacturing professionals we represent.  I have no doubt he will advance the firm’s impact on communication and commercial success for all stakeholders in our territory.”

HP Marketing’s territory covers one-third of the landmass of the United States with population centers and market opportunities spread out over vast distances. As such, account representatives from HP Marketing have acquired a deep understanding of the product, technologies and applications across a range of brands and customers. Connors emphasizes that adaption has made HP Marketing organizationally agile and resilient. “HP Marketing has remarkable depth in our ranks,” Connors says. “We have an excellent team with innate knowledge of our territory and similarly strong capacity to pair products and services to customer needs. Going forward we will double down on the team and invest in new technologies and systems to better serve stakeholders.”
