Tour Details
Coldplay’s production team were tasked with the balancing act of making the band sound good while also meeting the goal of a 50% reduction in carbon emissions compared to their previous Head Full of Dreams tour in 2016-2017. For the first leg of the tour, in Latin America, the sound system was sourced via local vendors to curb long distance transport costs and emissions. In most cases, the setup there included d&b’s J-Series speakers and SL-Subs. For the shows in the U.S., Firehouse Productions provided the GSL and KSL systems listed above. For the shows in Europe starting in July, Wigwam provided the P.A., powering hangs of d&b V8 and V12 to enhance even coverage while meeting stringent offsite noise level limits. There, delay speakers were expected to be powered by d&b’s efficient new D40 amplifiers on ring delays. The European shows also made use of d&b XSL tops paired with KSL-SUBs for side fill.
