Event Details
The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) hosted its 18th annual Founders Junior Council Fash Bash event, presented by Neiman Marcus, on Aug. 18. Staged within the art museum, the event is aligned with the museum’s mission of serving as a source of inspiration and cultural enrichment for those living in the Detroit area. The museum, which was founded in 1885 but moved to its current location in 1927, is considered in the top tier of art museums nationwide, with some 65,000 works of art displayed within more than 100 galleries covering some 658,000 square feet. The building was originally designed by Paul Philippe Cret in the Beaux Arts style, and estimates put the total value of the art collection to be worth more than $8 billion.
