IRVINE, CA — Astell&Kern, the high-end audio brand from iriver, is pleased to announce the Astell&Kern AKR01 In Ear Monitors (IEMs). Astell&Kern has partnered with Final Audio Design to produce audiophile quality In Ear Monitors that are perfectly matched to the Astell&Kern series of high resolution portable audio players. The new Astell&Kern IEMs are based on Final Audio Design’s Heaven IV Series of In Ear Monitors.
The AKR01 premium IEMs feature a balanced armature driver and are specially tuned to deliver a deep and rich sound.

The Astell&Kern AKR01 IEMs feature a balanced armature driver. To overcome the complaints and limitations of balanced armature drivers, Final Audio Design has created a proprietary driver unit that delivers deep, three-dimensional sound that surpasses the limitations of typical balanced armature drivers. The Balanced Air Movement (BAM) technology controls the internal air flow and prevents sound leakage to create natural, three-dimensional sound and accurately reproduces studio mastering sound.
The AKR01 IEMs also feature a strong stainless steel housing to product the highest sound quality. The stainless steel housing reduces vibration from mid to high-range sounds, suppresses distortion and creates a clean sound. The flat cable design reduces noise and prevents the cable from tangling.
Included with the Astell&Kern AKR01 are three different sizes of ear pads in two different styles – high sound isolation and low resonance types for the perfect fit. A custom designed leather case is also included.
