Designed for acoustical measurement applications, the EMX-7150 from iSEMcon is a 1/4-inch capsule condenser microphone made from a six-inch stainless steel body with an accurate 10 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and the capability to measure high sound pressure levels up to 145 dB. It operates from 12 to 52 VDC phantom power. It’s offered in a $330/retail kit that includes the EMX-7150 microphone, windscreen, mounting bracket w/screw adapter, 1/4″ to 1/2″ barrel adapter, USB stick with calibration data and protective carry pouch.
With its mechanically robust design, the EMX-7150 is well suited for harsh environment use such as open air sound reinforcement measurements. While predestined for acoustical measurement and room analysis, it can normally be used for general audio reporduction, without the included freefield calibration data file for compensation. In this case, the individual calibration data provides proof of the mic’s superb performance.
