HERRIARD, U.K. — Audient has named Simon Horn to lead its new program of directly supplying its dealers in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Horn, a music technology instructor and musician himself, has extensive experience in serving the needs of educational facilities teaching audio mixing and recording.

Following a strong period of growth in sales in Germany, audio manufacturer Audient is now supplying dealers directly. The decision to change the distribution strategy in this territory was taken with a view to developing a closer relationship with customers and dealers. To coincide with this new set up, sales manager Simon Horn joins the team, providing a contact point for current and future Audient customers in Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
Initially based in Audient’s UK headquarters, Simon is handling sales and support, as well as being at the forefront of business development in this region. Sales & marketing director, Luke Baldry, explains, “Having developed direct relationships with our dealers in the UK and US and seen the benefit to sales and support that this has brought, we’re very excited to be able to offer this service to our German customers too.”
Originally a musician by trade, Simon has since been on both sides of the educational system, having taught Music Techology to degree level and gained his own masters in Audio Technology. “I’m passionate about music, recording and technology,” he says. “I have the additional bonus of understanding the needs of educational facilities, which is invaluable given Audient’s excellent track record in educational centers around the world. Making quality professional audio technology available to more people is Audient’s philosophy and I am pleased to be able to facilitate this in these important markets.”
The distribution change comes hot on the heels of the announcement of the latest compact console ASP8416 from Audient, due to ship in the next few weeks. “The product information and images we have released so far have created a lot of excitement and I’m confident that customers and dealers all over the globe will not be disappointed,” concludes Baldry.
