Waves Audio has updated SoundGrid plugin server capability for DiGiCo SD consoles. Waves SoundGrid-compatible plugins come pre-loaded, eliminating the need to install. Users just need to bring their iLok. All DiGiCo SD consoles support Waves V8 plugins, with the flagship SD7 supporting up to 32 stereo processing racks, with eight plugins per rack, including dual engine support for redundant SoundGrids.
The other DiGiCo SD consoles, the SD8, SD9, SD10 and SD11, all support 16 stereo racks with eight plugins per rack. Because the outboard SoundGrid server is married to the mix core, all SoundGrive Live plugins have extremely low latency, as low as 0.8 milliseconds. Total snapshot integration means every console scene retains full control of all plugin parameters. Experimentation with multiple plugins during a show is easy because the audio doesn't mute when a new plug is added or the order is changed.
