Lexicon's compact, energy-efficient DD-8 Multi-Room Amplifier, an eight-channel amplifier with DriveCore amplifier technology, is now shipping. It delivers 1,000W – 125 watts into each of its eight channels. It measures 1.7" H (one rack space) by 17.3" W by 14.9" D and weighs 9.2lbs. The DD-8 uses Harman's new DriveCore amplifier IC chip, co-developed with Texas Instruments Inc., with a high level of component integration into an IC that is smaller than a postage stamp, reducing power consumption, heat production and the need for a fan.
