Citing its intuitive user interface, long battery life, wireless and 3G connectivity, light weight, compact size, and resulting popularity among users looking to use the Apple iPad as something more than a high-tech toy, Outline's development team is coming up with more iPad apps that remotely control its gear.
The development team has already written a dedicated app to control its Mini-COM.P.A.S.S. iMode line array. That app is now available on the Apple Store at:
http://itunes.apple.com/it/app/mini-com-p-a-s-s-linearray/id435900890?mt=8.
Next, the company will add control for the new iSM series of stage monitors (112, 212 and 115).
Outline credited the Internet-based iMode technology that it launched in 2009, which is gradually being incorporated in all its self-powered loudspeaker systems, for creating a direct connection between consoles and enclosures, each of which gets assigned a specific IP address.
That connectivity has paved the way for remote access and control via iPad apps, which can be designed not just as a way to get tasks done, but making the tasks themselves easier, efficient and enjoyable.
