LONDON – Audio-Technica gear – including a combination of ES935ML6 MicroLine Condenser Gooseneck Microphones and U851R Cardioid Condenser Boundary Microphones installed in Westminster Abbey, 32 microphones in all – captured the audio of the Royal Wedding, which attracted media attention from around the world and was seen by some 2 billion people.
The microphones were located in key areas of the Abbey; a computer touchscreen showed the operator their exact positions within the building. The ES935ML6 microphones were switched on and off locally by the user or controlled remotely by a verger using any of the touchscreens. Additionally, several Audio-Technica U851R Cardioid Condenser Boundary Microphones were used on the altars.
"We are incredibly honored to have our microphones employed for such a momentous occasion," said Greg Pinto, Audio-Technica U.S. vice president, marketing. "The royal wedding was one of the most highly watched events on television, and we believe it speaks to the quality and dependability of our products."
