The Focusrite Control 2802 Dual Layer Mixing Console, a small-format recording console and a DAW control surface in one, is the result of a partnership between Focusrite Audio Engineering Ltd. and Audient Ltd. It lets users jump between analog mixing and DAW control, combining 28 inputs, monitoring, stereo master bus compression, and  control over every major DAW in a single surface.
The Focusrite Control 2802 offers eight microphone preamplifiers and low-noise analog circuitry with high-frequency extension throughout, promising an audio path with transparency and accuracy. Ethernet-based control places the user's favorite music software at their fingertips, while DAW and console automation lets them take their mixes out of the box.

The Focusrite Control 2802 will be available from June 2011 and is designed to complement the RedNet range of networked audio interfaces, which Focusrite said would be available in Q4 2011.
